Pre-loaded 2-Chlorotrityl resin

2-Cl-trityl resin is another commonly used resin in solid phase peptide synthesis. The amino acids are preloaded to the resin and the growth of the peptide is the same as that of Wang resins. However, the peptide synthesized 2-Cl-Trytyl resins can be cleaved off using a mixture of trifluoroethanol and DCM  (2:8) to give fully protected peptides. This is very advantageous since the peptides cleaved from the resins still keep their original protecting groups and the peptides can be used for further reactions.

The preloaded 2-Cl-trityl resin prepared by Genemed Synthesis Inc. is based on high quality polymer and reagents. The polystyrene supports (1% DVB cross link) are available in 200-400 mesh size and the substitution levels of the pre-loaded Wang resins range from 0.95-1.20 mmole/g.
